India has seen 90+ GWh of BESS bids in the past twelve months. Prices are at record lows. The opportunity is generational. But here is the inconvenient truth every serious player already knows:
BESS is unforgiving. Gaps in BMS specification, fire suppression, EPC scope, or grid coordination are not recoverable the way a delayed solar delivery might be. A cluster of high-profile failures would not just hurt individual developers โ it would set back India’s grid decarbonization agenda by 3โ5 years.
