NETRA Weekly Council Meeting centred on Industrial Energy Transition: Pathways, Challenges & Solutions, bringing together sustainability leaders and solution providers for a candid, practitioner-led dialogue on real-world implementation. At a time when MumbaiClimateWeek and global AIimpactSummit conversations are shaping the broader narrative, it was particularly valuable to hear directly from industry leaders driving decarbonisation on the ground.
The discussion reflected diverse sectoral journeys. We explored SKF’s structured sustainability pathway — from plant-level operational efficiency and workforce training to renewable energy procurement and long-term REC strategies. Godrej Group shared its dual approach of enhancing internal energy productivity while simultaneously designing energy-efficient products and expanding renewable sourcing. The data centre perspective highlighted the rapid growth of the sector, improvements across design, construction, and cooling technologies, and the increasing integration of renewables and energy storage systems, including forward-looking conversations around onsite BESS and even SMR possibilities.
What made the session particularly impactful was the cross-industry exchange between practitioners from manufacturing, data centres, renewable development, BESS project development and manufacturing, and IoT-enabled energy intelligence platforms. The conversation moved beyond theory into practical questions around reliability, economics, storage integration, and scalable pathways for industrial decarbonisation.
Industrial energy transition is no longer an abstract ESG commitment — it is an operational and strategic transformation underway across sectors. At NETRA, we remain committed to fostering these peer-level dialogues that accelerate implementation and build collaborative pathways toward net zero.
